California State University Monterey Bay announces the 10th Annual DigitalStream Conference. We are cordially inviting every one, including Spanish, Italian, ASL and Japanese instructors, students and staff, to celebrate our Annual Day of the Dead. We are planning to select October 24-30 to carry on a series of activities related to this festivity, and October 29 as a whole WLC Cultural day, full of activities for our WLC students.
The altares will be on display through November 6.

Internment & redress for WWII Japanese-Americans

Description
John Tateishi, former national executive director of the Japanese American Citizens League, will talk about the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II and the path to redress at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the University Center living room. Mr. Tateishi, who has been involved with Asian American communities for over 25 years, gained national prominence in 1978 when he launched a campaign to seek redress for those who had been interned. He crafted the legislative and public affairs strategies of the campaign that successfully culminated in 1988 with an apology from the President and Congress and monetary redress for the victims of internment. He is the author of And Justice for All, an oral history of Japanese Americans who were interned. He also contributed to Lost Witnesses, a book of essays written by children of former internees.
