Join Education's DigitalStream
California State University, Monterey Bay is proud to have incubated and hosted 10 years of the Annual DigitalStream Conference on Emerging Technologies in Teaching Languages and Culture. The School for World Languages and Cultures wishes to appreciate the leadership and dedication of Dr. Yoshiko Saito-Abbott, the inspiration and driving force of the Conference for all this time. Additional appreciation is offered to the Conference Committee: Richard Donovan, Tom Abbott, Shigeko Sekine and Gus Leonard; and to the conference's primary external sources of support, good will, and participation: Tandberg Educational/SANAKO, the SouthWest Association of Language Learning Technology (SWALLT) and the Defense Language Institute-Foreign Language Center (DLI-FLC). The conference staff is, of course, indebted to our internal campus units including Extended Education and International Programs, Technology Support Services and the rest of IT@CSUMB, and Conference and Events Services for keeping us housed, connected and well fed for so many years. Thank you all!
The Conference will be on Sabattical for 2009. Please check back for updates on future events.
We are using this sabbatical to complete the publication of the Proceedings of the DigitalStream Conferences. Please see http://wlc.csumb.edu/digitalstream/proceedings.html regularly as they move through the publication process.
Each year, the DigitalStream Conference has attracted more than 300 attendees from California, across the country and overseas to share their interest in the study of foreign languages and the best uses of technology in the language classroom.
The Conference provides a unique forum of scheduled presentations, panel discussions, hands-on workshops and technology exhibitions where language teachers, technologists, administrators and vendors can share useful and cutting-edge information and learn from one another.
