Myriam Met is currently on the staff
of the National Foreign Language
Center, where she is responsible for K-12 language policy analysis.
From 1985 to 2000, she was Coordinator of Foreign Languages, K-12
for Montgomery County Public Schools (Md). From 1975 to 1985 she
was with the Cincinnati Public Schools, as a coordinating teacher
and then supervisor of language programs, where she was responsible
for foreign languages, ESL, and bilingual education. She has developed
instructional programs and curriculum, and been involved with teacher
training at the K-12 and postsecondary levels, published in journals
and professional books in the area of K-12 curriculum, instruction,
and teacher development for foreign language, bilingual education,
and ESL programs, and has also authored textbooks for elementary,
middle and high school.
Dr. Met has provided services to over 125 school districts, national
and state departments of education, universities, professional associations
and private agencies in 41 states, Europe, Asia, South America,
