Language Teaching Materials with QuickTime Movies (45
min.) Mimi Yu, University of Nevada, Reno Abstract: The multimedia components of QuickTime movies from visual to audio and video effects can help enrich a language classroom environment. This session explores the possibilities of utilizing QuickTime movies to streamline language course materials to cover different aspects of a language class: syllabus, new vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, writing, reading, and culture. Various example activities will be demonstrated at the presentation with both regular and interactive QuickTime movies. The developed materials can also be used as the skeletal work for an online language course.
