Jack Franke
Defense Language Institute
Jack Franke is Professor
of Russian at the Russian Language School, Defense Language Institute
(DLI), Monterey, CA. He previously served in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
as the Director of Computer-Aided Language Instruction. He recently completed
the Russian Digitization Project, converting over 3000 sound files into
mp3 format on 10 CDs and linking them to electronic textbooks. Franke
has presented at national and international conferences, and presently
is on the Editorial Board of the CALICO journal. Jack’s current
research interests include computer-aided language instruction and developing
L2 speaking proficiency.
