Abstract

Presentation of Arabic Grammar through Computer Assisted Studies (CAS) CD2
Production of Curriculum and Faculty Development, Foreign Language Center DLI
Computer Programmer Kiril Boyadjief
Course Developers: 1. Dr. Rashad Wanis 2. Dr. Nourredine Ale-Ali

Program Specifications:
This CAS program offers students an opportunity to learn and practice essential Arabic grammar features and vocabulary, which are needed to meet the requirements for the proficiency range from 0+-2+.

This course offers explicit grammar instructions, skill-development, exercises, and proficiency instructions throughout the text.

Real-life authentic and simulated authentic materials are the textual basis for this CAS program.

A native speaker voices each and every text. Students can record their own voices and compare them with the native voices. The importance of conversing with native speakers during the process of learning a second language is understood by any linguist. This interactive multi-media computer study will provide an excellent opportunity and solution to this problem.

The program offers users the opportunity to utilize it as an independent grammar reference source. This can be used towards the language maintenance and enhancement of previously acquired language skills.
