Abstract
Faculty need only review recent campus technology initiatives to see that a considerable degree of technical and scholarly attention has been devoted to the design and institutionalization of distributed learning models and environments targeting the promotion of virtual student enrollment or e-FTE. Despite this fact, little has been done to promote the development of new user-friendly models and approaches to facilitated learning, or faculty-friendly and student-centered instructional technology applications and courseware for the enhancement of hands-on (lab and field) and classroom-based instruction. This demonstration will introduce participants to the use of online and virtual tools for the design of effective approaches to the enhancement of facilitated learning for the culture and language-oriented classroom environment.
Proposed Target Language: English/Spanish
Internet-based presentation with online journals and basic html editing of Online Portfolios.
Anticipated Benefit to Participants: Participants will benefit from exposure to a hands-on demonstration of the online journal, portfolios, and assessment tools currently utilized by the presenter in the context of a facilitated learning environment.
