MBFLP Leader is Teacher of the Year!
Yo Azama, team leader on the Monterey Bay Foreign Language Project (MBFLP), has been recognized
as Foreign Language Teacher of the Year by the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in a recent press release. Azama is a Japanese language teacher at Salinas North High School and has worked with the MBFLP project for over 10 years.
ACTFL's recognition came after Azama was selected at the local (FLAMCO), state (CLTA) and regional levels (SWCOLT).
Dr. Yoshiko Saito-Abbott, site director for MBFLP, a California Subject Matter Project site, congratulates Mr. Azama on his dedication and committment he brings to the profession.
Azama is a graduate of the World Languages and Cultures program and single subject teaching credential program at California State University, Monterey Bay.
