Building International Citizens for the 21st Century

Our language programs are designed to develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as to learn about various aspects of a foreign culture and apply the knowledge to an understanding of one's own culture.

WLC offers two new BA programs from the Fall of 2011--the B.A. in Japanese Language and Culture and the B.A. in Spanish--as well as our existing program, the B.A. in World Languages and Cultures with an Emphasis in Japanese or Emphasis in Spanish. If you are working toward a career in the arts, business, education, science, or technology, a deep understanding of another language, its culture and history can benefit you. Moreover, learning to appreciate the uniqueness of another culture builds your ability to appreciate all cultures, a very important attribute in our ever-shrinking world. WLC offers minors in five areas to best meet your  career and future goals.

WLC offers language courses in American Sign Language, Japanese and Spanish.
