Mishima Pass in Kai Province, from the series "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji By katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) This woodblock print is another view of Mt. Fuji in Hokusai's famous series. This print displays Mt. Fuji colorfully in the background. These brilliant colors suggests an early evening setting. In the foreground, a group of travellers have stopped to admire the huge tree by linking arms in attempt to measure its amazing diameter. All of Hokusai's prints portray nature, but this particular print shows a specific aspect of nature its massiveness.
